Who can apply

• Not-for-profit organisations that operate in the Waikato region (Hamilton City plus Thames-Coromandel, Hauraki, Matamata-Piako, Waipaa, Waikato, South Waikato, Waitomo, Ootorohanga and Ruapehu districts)
• Organisations located outside the Trust Waikato boundary that are providing services inside the boundary
• An incorporated society
• A registered charitable trust
• A limited liability company operating for charitable purposes
• An organisation controlled or co-ordinated by an arm of central or local government
• An organisation controlled by an association of persons under an adopted constitution and rules
• Groups with a bank account and annual financial statements
• National organisations, to the extent they provide benefit to the Trust's region
• Schools and Parent Teacher Associations, but applications must be made through their Board of Trustees
• The FAQs note there is 'some flexibility around these requirements. We can, for example, fund organisations that have no legal status.'

Documents to have ready

• Chair's report, a summary of your activity over the past year (meeting minutes accepted if the group has been operating less than a year; schools and ECEs can provide their ERO report)
• Annual financial statements, most recent, audited, reviewed or internally prepared depending on structure and income level (if operating less than a year, a profit and loss statement plus a 12-month budget forecast)
• Bank account statement, most recent statement(s) summarising the balances of all accounts held
